The 2024 season has come to an end for the Winter Garden Squeeze after losing the best-of-three semifinal series in two games — 6-4 and 5-2 — to the DeLand Suns.
Following a lightning delay, the Squeeze hosted the Suns for eight innings on Wednesday, July 24, before the game was suspended due to inclement weather. Game 1 resumed in DeLand for a playoff double-header the next day.
Winter Garden finish its 2024 campaign with a 21-14 overall record. The Squeeze’s leading batter this season was West Orange High’s Titan Kamaka — who hit for an average of .376 (41/109), drove in 29 runs, scored 22 runs, hit three home runs and stole six bases.
On the mound, Micah Takac led the way for the Squeeze — pitching 29 innings with an ERA of 1.55, 29 strikeouts and a 5-0 record in the regular season.
