West Orange and Olympia high seniors named National Merit Scholarship winners

Nicolas Caso, a senior at West Orange High School, and Anthony Nguyen, a senior at Olympia High School, were named National Merit Scholarship winners.

A senior from West Orange and Olympia high schools were named National Merit Scholarship winners.

Nicolas Caso, a senior at West Orange High School, and Anthony Nguyen, a senior at Olympia High School, were among 830 high school seniors nationwide to be named National Merit Scholarship winners.

Winners are judged to have the strongest combination of academic achievements and skills, extracurricular accomplishments as well as potential for success in rigorous college studies.

More winners will be announced in May, June and July. More than 6,900 winners will receive scholarships totaling nearly $26 million.
