Dr. P. Phillips Hospital celebrates 40 years

The hospital's team will commemorate its birthday from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 9400 Turkey Lake Rd, Orlando.

Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is celebrating its 40-year anniversary this week. 

The 285-bed facility has been around since 1985 providing care to Southwest Orange residents with state-of-the-art equipment and and expert doctor. 

Until 2007, it was known as the Sand Lake Hospital. 

To celebrate this accomplishment, Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is hosting an event from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the lobby, at 9400 Turkey Lake Rd, Orlando.

Several health care members at the Dr. P. Phillips Hospital will be recognized at the event for their longstanding commitment to their patients and the community. 

“Since 1985, we’ve had the privilege of caring for our community and visitors from around the world,” said Philip Koovakada, president of Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. “This anniversary is a celebration of the trust from our patients and the dedication of our team members, who provide every patient with high-quality, compassionate care.”
