West Orange Warriors girls volleyball player Katelyn Landis has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at the University of Denver.

"I want to start off by thanking God for giving me patience, wisdom, peace in my decision and giving me the ability to play such an amazing sport," she wrote in a social media post about her decision. "I want to thank my whole family and all my friends for being extremely supportive throughout this whole journey. I especially want to thank my parents for being my biggest cheerleaders, the ones who supported me and the ones who showed up to it all. Next, I want to thank all my coaches. Thank you Coach Vicky for being a huge part of creating my love for this sport, thank you Coach Matt for always believing in me and getting me to where I am today and encouraging me to play at the next level, thank you Coach Wylee for always pushing me and teaching me how to balance having fun and working hard on the court."

The 6-foot-1 senior middle hitter was a key part of the 2024 West Orange team that clinched the Class 7A, District 5 championship and finished the season with a 16-5 record; Landis recorded 126 kills and 34 total blocks.
