The First Academy girls volleyball team traveled to fellow area school Windermere High Thursday, Aug. 21 and topped the Lady Wolverines in straight sets — 25-22, 25-23 and 25-19 — to move to 2-0 on the early season.
The Royals were led by senior outside hitter Kennedy Connell, who recorded 15 kills and seven digs, while junior setter Paeton Wheeler dished out 30 assists, had nine digs and four blocks in the three-set game.
Despite a standout performance from Windermere sophomore Caitlin Coughlin, who recorded 15 assists, three blocks, three aces and three digs in the loss, the Wolverines fell to 1-2.
