Orange County to discuss new e-bikes, e-scooters safety requirements

The Orange County Board of County Commissioners is set to discuss the potential implementation of new safety requirements during its meeting Tuesday, Dec. 2.

The Orange County Board of County Commissioners is considering implementing new county-wide safety requirements for e-bikes and e-scooters during its meeting Tuesday, Dec. 2. 

The discussion from the county comes as Orange County Public Schools considers more regulations and a possible ban on electric mobility devices on school property as well as rising concern from the public over an increase in crashed involving e-bikes and e-scooters. 

The Orange County Board of County Commissioners meeting is at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the commission chambers of the Orange County Administration Center at 201 S. Rosalind Ave., Orlando.
