Horizon West might get a new surf park in the future.

Orlando Surf Park was proposed to Orange County as a 44-acre sports and lifestyle complex, featuring a 15-acre surf lagoon.

It would feature a full restaurant, beach volleyball, live entertainment, surf stores and more.

But before this project can move forward, environmental, technical and transportation issues must be addressed by Orlando Surf Park's developer, as the proposed project was denied by Orange County.

With landscape and sidewalk conflicts, intersection and roadway issues, as well as fire safety issues and environmental worries, the project may take years to complete if approved by the county.

The county is now waiting for the developer's new and improved plans to be submitted.
