Woman crashes into Sheriff's vehicle near Ocoee

A Kissimmee woman rear ended an Orange County Sheriff's patrol car near Ocoee Friday, Dec. 5.

A Kissimmee woman was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries after failing to stop for a patrol car. 

An Orange County patrol car was stopped on State Road 429 near Exit 24 around 11 p.m. in response to a crash, where the 42-year-old woman from Kissimmee failed to stop for the marked patrol car responding to the crash, causing another crash herself. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a 2004 Honda Accord. 

She was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries while the deputy who was struck was taken to Health Center Hospital to treat minor injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.
