One dead after crash on State Road 429 in Winter Garden

A car crash south of Winter Garden Vineland Road early Monday, Dec. 15, left one person dead and another in the hospital.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left one driver dead and sent a passenger to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. 

According to FHP, the crash occurred at 6:08 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, on State Road 429. 

The 35-year-old driver from Orlando was driving in a 2012 Dodge Ram Chassis Cab southbound on S.R. 429 at mile marker 17, south of Winter Garden Vineland Road when he lost control of the vehicle. 

The vehicle overturned multiple times, and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene. 

The 37-year-old male passenger, of Orlando, was sent to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. 

FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
