Winter Garden resident dies in crash

A 30-year-old male died after being transported to Advent Health Apopka following a crash on State Road 429 approaching Ocoee Apopka Road Monday, Dec. 15.

A Winter Garden man has died after a crash at 2:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, on State Road 429. 

The 30-year-old man was driving northbound on State Road 429 approaching mile marker 29, which is Ocoee Apopka Road, in a 2019 Nissan Sentra when he ran off the roadway right onto the outside shoulder. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the reason the driver ran off the roadway is unknown. 

The vehicle collided with an electric pole. 

The man was transported to Advent Health Apopka where he was pronounced dead. 

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. 

This is the second crash to claim a life on State Road 429 Monday, Dec. 15.
