The FHSAA finalized its new football classifications for the 2026-28 seasons Wednesday, Dec. 17.

The tentative classifications were announced Monday, Dec. 8 and schools had until Monday, Dec. 15 to appeal them.

Under the tentative plan, Ocoee was placed in Class 6A Region 1, but now the Knights are moved into the same classification as Dr. Phillips, Olympia and West Orange. Now, four local programs will compete against each other.

Windermere High is now in a classification, rather than Independent, giving the team a chance to compete for a state title.
