Citrus Elementary school zone to have speed-detection cameras

Ocoee Police Department is implementing the cameras with warnings beginning Monday, Feb. 17.

Ocoee Police Department is working to make the school zone at Citrus Elementary School safer with the implementation of speed-detection cameras. 

The cameras will help reduce crashes, slow down drivers and raise awareness in school zones, according to a Facebook post from the city of Ocoee.

The warning phase will begin Monday, Feb. 17 and continue until Monday, March 24. 

After the warning phase, violators will face a $100 civil violation.
