On Tuesday, July 8, the Orange County Utilities Department announced that Apopka-Vineland Road, Winter Garden-Vineland Road and Palm Parkway are under a precautionary boil water advisory.

There was a water main break earlier on Tuesday near State Road 535, which may have caused the water to become contaminated.

The utilities department noted that there is no evidence of water contamination, but it recommends all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled for at least one minute prior to consumption.

The water main break is blocking two of the three southbound lanes on S.R. 535 near Apopka-Vineland Road as crews work to resolve the issue.

When the work is completed, the department said the water will undergo at least two days of testing to ensure its safety.

There will be an update on Thursday, July 10, on the precautionary boil water advisory.
