Orange County is currently under a heat advisory.

A heat advisory is issued within 12 hours when the heat index is expected to reach 108 degrees.

This heat advisory includes Oakland, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Dr. Phillips, Windermere, and all other Central Florida locations.

It will be in effect  Friday, July 18, until 6 p.m..

According to the town of Oakland's Facebook page, abnormally hot and humid conditions will continue into the weekend, with peak heat index values reaching 108-110 degrees.
The town said the heat advisory will likely continue through the weekend.
It's important to pay special attention to older adults, young children and pets, while staying hydrated and avoiding the sun, if possible.
If you're outside and feel exhausted from the heat, visit newsroom.ocfl.net/ExtremeHeat to find a cooling location near you. These cooling locations are public spaces with air conditioning or recreational water features (splashpad), designed to help people stay safe from the heat.
