Foundation Academy rising junior Haley Higgins announced her commitment to play college volleyball and continue her academic journey in the nation's capital as a member of the Georgetown Lady Hoyas.
“I want to thank the Lord for giving me this amazing opportunity and allowing me to play the sport I love," she wrote in an Instagram post announcing her decision. "I also want to thank my family for supporting me through my volleyball journey. Mom, thank you for introducing me to volleyball and peppering with me in the backyard. Dad, thank you for being my biggest supporter and spending hours driving us to tournaments. I also want to thank my Top Select family: To my teammates, thank you for continuously pushing me to be my best! To my coaches, thank you for developing me into the athlete I am today.”
The 6-foot-2 middle blocker has been vital to the Lady Lions' success the past two seasons. Her 85 total blocks — which were the most of any Foundation player across the past two seasons — 486 combined kills across 149 sets helped lead the team to a 32-11 overall record.
