Back-To-School Sales Holiday in place for the month of August

Governor Ron DeSantis announced the sales on Monday, July 28.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced the return of Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. 

These sales will go from Aug. 1 to Aug. 31, allowing families save on necessary purchases for back-to-school. 

"By cutting taxes, empowering parents and growing our community, we're making it easier for people to live, work and thrive in the Free State of Florida," DeSantis said in a press conference. 

The Sales Tax Holiday includes exemptions for these items: 

- Binders 

-Notebooks

-Lunch boxes

-Backpacks 

-Shirts 

-Pants

-Shoes

-Interactive books 

-Flashcards

-Laptops

-Headphones, and others. 

The sales tax holiday does not apply to sales in a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment or airport.
