Olympia baseball’s Matthew Logan has announced via his social media that he has committed to play college ball on the east end of Orange County as a member of the UCF Knights.

“First and foremost, I am honored to announce my commitment to the University of Central Florida,” Logan wrote. “I would like to thank all of my coaches throughout my playing career (who) have helped me achieve this goal. … I would also like to give a huge thank you to my parents for their endless support of me and, lastly, I would like to thank Coach (Rich) Wallace and the entire UCF staff for this opportunity. Charge On!”

Logan is an experienced, physically gifted and versatile baseball player; having driven in 35 runs across 55 games for the Titans over the past two seasons. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing in at 220 pounds, the rising senior is able to not only use his superior athleticism to stand out as position player on defense at first base and in the outfield, and as a left-handed pitcher but also with his rapid swing from the batter’s box.
