Middle school students across Orange County will have the opportunity to participate in a free summer day camp program through the YMCA of Central Florida, thanks to funding from the Orange County Government.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the YMCA and Orange County to provide accessible, enriching summer opportunities for youth while helping families reduce the cost of care during summer break.

The YMCA Middle School Summer Zone is open to all incoming sixth-grade through outgoing eighth-grade students who reside in Orange County. The program, which runs from June 2 through July 25, will be held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at eight middle school locations. There will be no camp the week of June 30 through July 4.

Participating schools include Avalon Middle School, Bridgewater Middle School, Conway Middle School, Southwest Middle School, Timber Springs Middle School, Union Park Middle School, Water Spring Middle School and Westridge Middle School.

Each week of the program features a different theme, ranging from fitness and time travel to water games and a final celebration week. Weekly themes are designed to engage students in creative, active, and educational experiences. Specialty tracks are also available and vary by location.

2025 Weekly Themes:

June 2 through 6: Surfin' Into Summer

June 9 through 13: Fitness Frenzy

June 16 through 20: Time Travelers

June 23 through 27: Lost in Space

July 7 through 11: Water Mania

July 14 through 8: Treasure Hunters

July 21 through 25: Grand Finale

In addition to programming, the camp includes free breakfast and lunch provided by the school district, as well as a complimentary YMCA t-shirt for each participant. To maintain enrollment, students must attend at least three days per week. Registration is required for each week of attendance.

The YMCA encourages families to register early, as space is limited. For more information or to register, contact the YMCA Middle School Programs team at [email protected] or call (407) 896-9220.
