Winter Garden Police Athletic League hosts annual Holiday Gift for Kids program

The athletic league is accepting registrations and donations for the program, which provides children presents.

The Winter Garden Police Athletic League is accepting registrations and donations for its annual Holiday Gift for Kids program. 

The program provides presents to Winter Garden children 12 years old and younger who are in need. 

Registration is from Monday, Nov. 10 to Friday, Dec. 5. 

Only a parent or legal guardian can register a child.

Required documents that must be verified in order to register include a birth certificate or court/custody paperwork; current water or utility bill for the Winter Garden address they reside; proof of government assistance; some type of identification such as a driver's license, ID card or passport; and the child must be age 12 or younger.

To register, people can hand an application to a police officer on patrol or by picking an application up and returning it to:

  • Winter Garden Police Department, 251 W. Plant St.
  • Winter Garden City Hall, 300 W. Plant St.
  • Maxey Center, 830 Klondike St.
  • Mildred Dixon Activity Center, 303 S.W. Crown Pointe Road
  • Jessie Brock Community Center, 310 N. Dillard St.

The child officially will be registered once the Community Liaison Unit contacts you and you are given a Holiday Gift for Kids ticket with a scheduled pickup date and time. 

Want to donate?

The Winter Garden Police Athletic League fundraisers partially fund the program, but donations are needed. 

New, unwrapped gifts can be dropped off through Friday, Dec. 12, at the Winter Garden Police Department at 251 W. Plant St. 

Donations can include toys, board games, sport balls, puzzles, toy cars and trucks, Legos, Matchbox Cars, dolls, bicycles for all ages, arts and crafts sets, jewelry kits, infant toys, action figures, and gift cards.
