Winter Garden to host document shredding event

The free shredding event will be for residents only from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 8, at 848 E. Plant. St.

The city of Winter Garden is hosting a free document shredding event for residents. 

Residents can bring up to five boxes or bags of documents for shredding rom 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 8, at 848 E. Plant St., which is across from Winter Garden Library. 

Crown Information Management will provide safe and secure document shredding onsite, and the shredded paper will be recycled. 

In order to participate, people must bring proof of residency. It is for residents only, not businesses. 

Items that are allowed for shredding include:

  • Paper clips
  • Rubber bands
  • Chart fasteners
  • Spiral notebooks
  • Staples
  • Credit cards
  • Paper
  • Envelopes with fasteners

Items that are not allowed include:

  • Binder clips
  • Batteries
  • Three-ring binders
  • Medication
  • Sharps or needles
  • Bio-waste
  • Large metal objects
