Windermere High swimmer beats National High School record

Windermere’s junior Rylee Erisman defeated the 100 free National High School time.

Windermere High swimmer Rylee Erisman defeated the 100 free National High School time during the Florida High School Athletic Association 4A Championships. She swam the 100-yard freestyle in 46.73 seconds to beat the national record. The previous time was 46.98 seconds by Gretchen Walsh, who attended Harpeth Hall School. 

The Wolverine also defeated the Florida 50-yard freestyle record with her time of 21.67 seconds. She took home four first-place titles during states Friday, Nov. 14.

Erisman is a junior at Windermere and already has taken official visits to Texas, Tennessee, Michigan, Cal and Virginia. The swimmer has not announced her commitment. She helped lead the team to finishing states as runners-up. Windermere High also beat the 200-meter medley relay race with a new state record in the time of 1:56.96.
