Horizon High football’s offensive coordinator Ashton Watts is leaving the school after five years to transition to head coaching at Wekiva High.
He was a part of the original coaching staff when Horizon first started its football program in 2021.
Watts also served as an assistant coach for Horizon’s baseball team as well as an assistant athletic director and disciplinary dean. His other coaching experiences include a six-year football and baseball coaching career at Ocoee and a year at West Orange.
He’s a graduate from Ocoee High School and attended Marietta College where he played offensive lineman.
“I am so proud to see a young man as a player in high school become a coach, become an OC and now become a head coach, especially at a high school with great history,” Horizon head coach Dennis Thomas Jr. wrote on social media. “It is my why. Love you coach, go be great.”
