As the city of Ocoee continues to celebrate its centennial, the city's Human Relations Diversity Board is launching a video project.

Discover Ocoee is a community initiative inviting residents to submit short videos of themselves saying, "Hello and welcome to Ocoee" in their first language.

The submissions will be compiled into a multilingual video montage to celebrate the cultural richness of Ocoee.

The board is encouraging residents from every neighborhood and background to participate.

"Whether a family has lived in Ocoee for generations or recently chose the city as their home, each submission helps tell the story of a community shaped by people from all around the world," according to a news release from the city. "The project reflects the HRDB’s commitment to highlighting inclusion, belonging and the diversity in Ocoee. By sharing a simple greeting in their first language, residents help showcase the welcoming spirit and shared pride that connects the community."

Once the video is complete, it will be shared on the city's website and social media channels.

Videos can be submitted here and should be submitted by Wednesday, Dec. 3.
