A 77-year-old man was sent to the hospital after 20-year-old Wilkinson Charles lost control of his vehicle, crashed into the man's home and left the scene.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred right after 2:20 a.m. on Blair Drive, near Dorscher Road.

The 77-year-old victim had just gotten home from the hospital and was in the bathroom getting ready for bed, when the car came through the house.

The man was in the doorway and got pushed out, though he suffered cuts and a slight concussion, having to return to the hospital hours later, his daughter said.

Now, the family is urging commissioners and Mayor Buddy Dyer to make changes to the area, asking for it to be safer.

Repairs to the home will take months to complete, however, the 77-year-old man is expected to make a full recovery.
