Meet Eliza Cohen.

She’s one of the happiest babies people will meet. She loves to wave to all and make new friends with a constant smile across her face.

At 2 months old Cohen was diagnosed with a hemangioma on her head that grew at a rapid pace. The doctors were worried about it growing into her eyes and causing damage. Her parents decided to use laser treatment by Dr. Monique Kumar to stop it from growing further.

The treatments have been working well, but insurance doesn’t cover the procedure because it’s considered cosmetic, even if it becomes a medical problem later on.

Cohen’s parents entered her into the Variety magazines Baby of the Year competition to hopefully win and use the funds to pay for her treatments.

The competition supports Baby2Baby and every paid vote is a donation to the nonprofit. Baby2Baby is a nonprofit that supports children in need across the country with diapers, clothes and any basic necessities for a child.

Cohen is currently top 10 in her group. Voting for the competition runs through Thursday, Oct. 16 for the top five. Then it heads to group finals, quarterfinals, semifinals and finals with daily voting.
