Ocoee's Casie Constantine is recovering from an injury that happened during her daughter's wedding.

The wedding took place Oct. 5 in Minnesota at a venue with live animals, a green landscape and proximity to the groom's family.

A night to remember quickly turned south after Constantine squatted to pet a Highland cow during the reception.

"The cow basically came up and jumped on me, kind of like a dog would,” she said in an interview with the Sentinel. “Its hooves went on my shoulders…it bent me forward…so when my face hit the ground, the cow just kind of like, walked over me.”

Constantine spent nine days in a hospital in Minnesota and was diagnosed with fractures to her back and neck.

She is now back in Ocoee and had surgery Friday, Oct. 17. She's scheduled to be in an upper-body brace and in physical therapy for six to eight weeks.

Her husband, who works for a vacation ownership company, will be taking time off to take care for her and their 12-year-old daughter.

Constantine's newly-wed daughter created a GoFundMe fundraiser to help with the cost of bills and cover the time they will not be working.
