WEEK 10: West, Southwest Orange high school football games in review

Week 10 was an important week for programs in the West and Southwest Orange high school football scene as they fight their way for a higher seed in playoffs. 

Windermere Prep, CFCA, Legacy Charter and Foundation Academy geared up and took the field for the last time in the regular season. 

CFCA completed its road to an undefeated season by pulling away with a victory to turnaround the 3-6 record from last year. The Eagles have put up remarkable numbers through the speed and talent of freshman running back Jahmari Hammonds and quarterback Gavin Pritzkau, the fellow young star. Foundation Academy had a successful stint this year as well under the guidance of first year head coach DJ White. The team’s final road game tied its highest scoring night.

In one of the most anticipated games, the Battle of the Shield, West Orange claimed victory over Ocoee. The game was a nail biter and lived up to the rivalries expectations. The Warriors won with only 22 seconds on the clock and claimed first place in its district. On the other side of town, Olympia defeated East Ridge and earned the team second in its district. The Titans have been fighting towards the tail end of its season and won two of the last three games. 

Windermere clashed with a fellow undefeated team, Innovation, and turned out victorious on the team’s home field. The team has continued to prove the strength in brotherhood and are pushing to repeat its 10-0 record. Horizon gathered its fourth win of the season and during the game running back Kaio Olivera surpassed his 1,000 season rushing yards.
