Allison Williams of Orlando, traveled to the ScotDance USA National Championships this summer as the Southeastern Regional Champion in the 16 and under 18 category of Premier dancers.

Williams is a student at the Centre for Dance & the Performing Arts in Winter Garden, where she learns the highly-competitive and traditional Scottish Highland dances.

"Placing in the top six has been a goal of mine for years, and finally reaching that goal is a feeling like no other," Williams said. "I love the challenge that Highland dancing offers, and I am grateful for the opportunities it has provided me, the discipline it has taught me and the lifelong friendships I have made. I am extremely grateful for my teachers, family, and friends who continue to support me on my Highland dance journey.”

Kathryn Austin, founder and teacher at the Centre for Dance & The Performing Arts praised Williams for her success.

"There are so many things to be proud of Allison about in her dancing," she said. "She excels in all forms of dance and is beautiful to watch on stage. There is something very special about the way she approaches her highland dancing. Her self-awareness, eagerness to improve, and unwavering dedication are remarkable for a young girl her age. She is a joy to teach."

Both have now returned from Scotland.
