Windermere Police Department to host fishing day

Cops and Bobbers will take place from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 20 at 520 Main St., Windermere.

The Windermere Police Department is hosting Cops and Bobbers this Saturday, Sept. 20.

The 5th annual event allows children from ages 3 to 17 to fish with officers from 8 a.m. to noon at 520 Main St., Windermere.

The town will offer fishing rods, reels and tackle to use during the event.

Children ages 3 to 6 will fish from the shoreline with WPD.

The event is a nationwide initiative to get youth involved with the community in a fun, relaxing way.
