Disney's Animal Kingdom celebrates Bakso the tiger's birthday

Disney's Animal Kingdom is celebrating Bakso's first birthday. 

The Sumatran tiger was born and raised at Animal Kingdom, drawing thousands of people to the park to see the baby tiger grow in his first year. 

Bakso's name was inspired by the Indonesian word for "meatball."

To celebrate Bakso's first birthday, Disney cast members prepared birthday enrichment, including his favorite snacks like ice treats and goat's milk.

"With fewer than 600 Sumatran tigers in the wild, every birthday is special and serves as a powerful reminder that by providing exceptional care for animals at Disney's Animal Kingdom as well as contributing to conservation efforts in the wild, we can make a difference and ensure a future where tigers continue to thrive," according to a news release.
