Horizon High track runners shine in weekend events

Abigayle White and Jacob Finch earned personal records, while Horizon's girls team had a first-place finish.

Horizon High's senior Jacob Finch and Abigayle White traveled to Florida State University to compete in the FSU Relays Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29. 

In the meet that brought elite-level runners from across Florida and the region, Finch and White both recorded personal records. Finch raced in the 800-meter and earned a PR with his time of 1:56.52. He also ran the 1,600 meters in 4:24.53. White only raced in the 1,600 where she ran a 5:06.99 PR. 

The team also competed in Windermere Friday Night Lights Friday, March 27. Horizon's girls team won first place with 96, Windermere High in second with 95, Dr. Phillips in fifth with 72, West Orange in seventh with 55 and Foundation Academy in ninth with 44. On the boys side, Windermere finished in second with 92, Horizon in fifth with 73, West Orange in sixth with 64, Foundation in eighth with 49 and Dr. Phillips in 10th with 46.
