As construction work continues in downtown Windermere Monday, April 6, through Friday, April 10, the town is asking drivers to be patient, allow for extra drive time and to drive safely.

Crews will be working on Second Avenue to repair concrete and paver driveways and grade dirt behind the curb where needed. Crews also will be sodding, mulching or installing gravel.

Speed humps will be reinstalled either this week or next week in the same locations as before, and there will be lane closures on the day of the re-installations.

Storm drainage will be installed alongside Third Street. Crews will be forming and pouring a concrete weir in the retention area, and Orange County Water will be relocating a serve line Thursday, April 9. The storm pipe will be completed once water service is relocated.

Work will continue on Bessie Street, East Boulevard and Eighth and Ninth Avenues as crews will be performing miscellaneous activities at various locations. The work might include road grading, right-of-way grading, sodding and some concrete work.

Concrete weird and mitered ends will be formed and poured along East Boulevard and Eighth Avenue. Sod will be installed behind the curb on the curve of Eighth Avenue and Bessie Street.

Limited work will be done in Fernwood Park as a crew might be grading a swale, and crews could be working in various areas along Butler and Forest Streets and Seventh Avenue, working on swales and road shoulders.
