Olympia High School heading to national speech competitions

The speech and debate teams made history after taking all three qualifying spots in Public Forum Debate during the National Speech and Debate Association Regional Qualifier.

Olympia High School announced its speech and debate teams made history at the National Speech and Debate Association Regional Qualifier.

"For the first time in program history, Olympia has taken all three qualifying spots in Public Forum Debate," the announcement said. 

The three teams include J. Meyers and S. Patel, A. Williams and E. Senatus, and K. Parikh and L. Cumberbatch. 

These students will head to Nationals in Richmond from June 14 to June 19. 

Seven Titans also are heading to National Catholic Forensic League Grand Nationals in Washington D.C. from May 22 to May 24. 

They are J. Wesley, J. Meyers, S. Patel, N. Reed, Z. Martin, A. Hunanyan and G. Rousseau. 

"Out of 27 schools, the Titans didn’t just complete, they dominated!" the school posted online.
