Orlando Health hosted its second-annual 407 Day

Orlando Health, along with local businesses, community members and sports partners, came together to serve communities in Orange and Osceola counties.

Orlando Health hosted its second-annual 407 Day Tuesday, April 7, with onsite volunteer projects at Dr. P. Phillips, Health Central and Horizon West hospitals in West Orange County to benefit the community.

Volunteers also worked at Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital. 

Orlando Health staff worked alongside local businesses, community members and sports partners to pack school supply kits for A Gift for Teaching at Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital as well as pack meal kits for U.S. Hunger and snack packs for Eight Waves at Orlando Health — Health Central Hospital and Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital.

The health system had 2,098 team member volunteers contributing 2,621 hours Tuesday, April 7.

“Our team members provide compassionate care to our patients every day, and that spirit of service extends beyond our hospitals’ walls, reflecting our commitment to improving health and quality of life in the communities we’re grateful to be part of,” said Philip Koovakada, senior vice president for Orlando Health's South Florida Region, which includes the health system’s facilities in west/southwest Orange and Osceola counties.
