Windermere's Ward Trail Pedestrian Bridge now under construction

Construction of the safe routes to school began Monday, Feb. 2.

The town of Windermere announced the beginning of construction of the Ward Trail Pedestrian Bridge, which is supposed to be a safe route for children going to school. 

Construction began Monday, Feb. 2, and will continue throughout the month. 

Here's what to expect from Monday, Feb. 2, to Friday, Feb. 6.

  • Contractor mobilization and setup in designated work areas 
  • Placement of construction equipment and materials 
  • Temporary maintenance of traffic measures in Areas 1 and 2. 


From Tuesday, Feb. 3, to Saturday, Feb. 14, here's what will happen. 

  • Erosion control installation 
  • Clearing and grubbing within approved construction limits 
  • Early site preparation activities in Areas 1 and 2. 


The town said construction work only will happen during the daytime and temporary localized trail impacts might occur.
