West Orange County students place in OCPS Culinary Competition

Students from Horizon, Ocoee, Olympia and West Orange high schools placed in the top three in various categories.

Students from four West Orange County high schools placed in the top three in various categories in Orange County Public Schools' Culinary Competition Thursday, Jan. 29.

The students were from Horizon, Ocoee, Olympia and Horizon high schools.

In Knife Skills, Ocoee High's Annik Cabrera placed first while West Orange High's Ethan Walker placed second. 

In Edible Centerpiece, Horizon High's Summer Hudson Moffett placed first.

West Orange's Luca Fernandez, Morgan Carton and Brody Batz placed first in Gourmet Meal OTC while Horizon's Amira Smiley, Brooklyn Leggett and Marya Marianawalla placed second. 

Ocoee High's Kathryn Babcock and Isabella Holmes took top prize in Gourmet Dessert.

In ProStart PreLim, Ocoee's Daniya White, Meghan DeLeon-Gonzalez, Zaria Dstin, Nataly Jimenez and Analise Perez placed first. Olympia's Robert Mazzella, Bermannie Van-Mary, Abbagail Christopher, Carl Jacques and Joshua Santos placed second.
