Candace Knight grew up in a chili family. Her parents entered their first chili competition in 1975, decorating their booth with wooden doors to look like a saloon.
Her upbringing took her down the path of chili and she dished up her family’s recipe at the Legacy Events for Education’s Central Florida Chili Cookoff Saturday, Feb. 7.
The cookoff drew out hundreds of guests who scattered around Hamlin’s green space and put their tastebuds to the test against the over 30 booths of Central Florida Chili Cooks. There also was yard activities, drinks and bounce houses for the children to enjoy.
