Lakeview Middle School National Junior Honor Society members completed its fourth annual Valentine's Day service project in honor of Winter Garden Fire Rescue.

National Junior Honor Society members organized and collected a variety of snacks and treats and assembled gift packages for the teams across Winter Garden's fire stations to show appreciation for their service and dedication to the community.

Students lead the planning, promoting and gathering of donations.

"The annual tradition has become one of the chapter's most anticipated service activities, providing students with a hands-on opportunity to support local first responders," said Sarah Clemons-Salabarria, Lakeview Middle's NJHS advisor. "Fire department representatives expressed gratitude for the continued recognition, nothing that gestures like this strengthen the relationship between firefighters and the community they serve."

The NJHS chapter hopes to continue the project in the future.
