Orange County Sheriff's Office arrests teen in Horizon West

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 14-year-old who was riding an electric bicycle when the teen fled from the stop.

An Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy arrested a 14-year-old boy during a traffic stop.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, a deputy was in the area of Black Quill Drive and Porter Road conducting a traffic stop on the teen, who was riding an electric bicycle recklessly through the neighborhood. 

He then fled the traffic stop and was arrested shortly afterward. He was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center. 

He was charged with fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer and was issued a citation for reckless driving.
