Town of Windermere faces road closures

Roadwork continues on several streets in the town of Windermere.

From 727 to 800 W. Second Ave., crews will be removing old asphalt and dirt and installing new lime rock for paving. 

Crews also will be installing lime rock base material for curbs and forming and pouring concrete curbs from 914 to 1141 W. Second Ave. 

Tie-in paver and concrete driveways to the new curb will be done where needed. 

Crews will work with residents to notify them 24 hours in advance as to when they'll lose access to their driveways. 

The installation of storm drainage along Eighth Avenue will continue this week, focusing on Magnolia to East Boulevard, as well as on Bessie Street between Eighth and Seventh avenues. 

Grading of roads and installation of new shell road material on Eighth Avenue between Main Street and East Boulevard, East Boulevard from Ninth and Eighth avenues, and Oakdale Street between Eighth and 10th avenues also will be taking place. 

To allow for this project, Eighth Avenue between East Boulevard and Bessie Street as well as Bessie Street between Seven and Eighth avenues will be closed Monday, Feb. 23, through Friday, Feb. 27. 

Lastly, work will continue along Butler and Forest streets and in Fernwood Park.
