Windermere Preparatory School announced its 2026 Kids Heart Challenge was a tremendous success.

According to its social media post, due to the enthusiasm of its students and the supporters of the Laker community, the school raised $37,043.58 for the American Heart Association.

This is a school record.

According to the American Heart Association's website, heart disease takes another life in America every 34 seconds.

Founded in 1924, the association is the oldest and largest voluntary nonprofit organization in the country dedicated to fighting cardiovascular disease and stroke.

"Our Wear Red Dress Down Day alone contributed $1,339 toward this meaningful cause," Windermere Prep posted. "We are so proud of our students for learning the importance of heart health, service and giving back while making a real impact beyond our campus."
