Windermere residents on West Second Avenue and Pine Street are under a precautionary boil water advisory from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13.

The precautionary boil water advisory is due to necessary work in the area.

The town of Windermere is asking residents to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes prior to use. It is recommended to heat water to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

The water is safe for bathing, laundering and other non-consumptive uses.

The town said in a Facebook post that the advisory will remain in effect until the work has been completed and bacteriological testing shows that water is safe to drink.

For more information, call Orange County Utilities Water Division at (407) 254-9850 or (407) 836-2777.
