Matthew's Hope homeless ministry is opening its doors as a Freeze Warning Emergency Shelter from Thursday, Jan. 15 to Wednesday, Jan. 21.

This marks the third time the ministry has had to do this in just six weeks.

"Every time we have to open as a Freeze Warning Emergency Shelter, our resources take a beating," the ministry posted on Facebook. "We go through a ton of food and increased overhead costs due to utilities, 24/7 staffing and meeting other unplanned needs."

To help the ministry during this time, it asks for some items to be donated, such as: cots, jeans, sweatpants, hand warmers, healthy snacks, drinks, toilet paper, paper towels and more.

Donations can be dropped off 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at 611 Business Park Blvd, Winter Garden.

Donations also can be made by clicking here
