Town of Windermere faces multiple road closures

The town announced multiple road closures from Monday, Jan. 12 to Friday, Jan. 16.

Windermere currently is facing multiple road closures throughout the town for storm-drainage installation, regrading roads, driveway repairs and lime-rock installation on curbs. 

Here’s what to know. 

West of Palm Street: From Monday, Jan. 12 to Wednesday, Jan. 14, temporary daytime closures will take place on W. 2nd Ave for lime-rock installation. Water services will be shutdown from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13. From Wednesday, Jan. 14 to Friday, Jan. 16, crews will begin drainage work in the cul-de-sac. 

Butler Street: From Monday, Jan. 12 to Friday, Jan. 16, a road grading crew will be working on Butler Street between 6th Ave. and 7th Ave, removing old road material and replacing it with new material. 

9th Ave: Windermere residents will see road closures on 9th Ave. from East Boulevard to Oakdale Street from Monday, Jan. 12 to Friday, Jan. 16. for storm-drainage installation. The town asks all residents to be patient and drive with caution, and suggests drivers to allow extra travel time.
