Windermere High's cheer team becomes state champions

The Lime Ladies won the FHSAA Class 2A Small Varsity State Championship for the second year in a row.

Windermere High School's competitive cheerleading team, the Lime Ladies, won the FHSAA Class 2A Small Varsity State Championship Thursday, Jan. 22, marking its second consecutive win. 

The Lime Ladies competed against 10 other girls small varsity teams from around the state. 

"Your hard work, dedication, heart and unmatched team spirit showed once again on the biggest stage," Windermere Athletics posted on Facebook. "You continue to raise the bar and make your school and community so proud."

The team's final score was 88.10, followed by J.M. Tate High School with a score of 87.60, and Cooper City High School with 86.60 points.

"Champions in every way—two years in a row," Windermere Athletics post said.
