The Lady Royals weightlifting team wins back-to-back district championships

The First Academy girls weightlifting team hosted the Class 1A District Championship Saturday, Jan. 24. For the second consecutive year, the Lady Royals earned first place and the title of 1A District Champions. 

The team won in both Olympic and Traditional divisions and 14 of the girls medaled in their weight classes. The Royals achieved two first-place, six second-place and two third-place finishes in Olympic. In Traditional, the team earned one first-place, three second-place and three third-place finishes.

“Your coaches are immensely proud of your hard work so far this season, ladies,” they wrote on the Lady Royals’ social media. 

TFA will host the regional qualifiers and the first lifts begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31.
