Lake Buena Vista weightlifter qualifies for states

The Vipers’ Aime Albarran earned a first place finish in Traditional at regionals.

Lake Buena Vista High girls weightlifter Aime Albarran finished first place in traditional for Class 3A District 4 regionals Wednesday, Jan. 21. Her total weight was 245 pounds. She also finished No. 2 in Olympic weightlifting by lifting 220 pounds. 

Albarran qualified herself to compete in the Class 3A State Championship in Lakeland, Florida, Sunday, Feb. 15. 

The Vipers as a team finished No. 4 in regionals with 23 total points. Horizon High finished No. 3 with 31 points, Windermere High finished No. 5 with 18 points, Olympia High was No. 6 with 13 points and Dr. Phillips finished No. 8 with nine points.
