Matthew's Hope Ministries is asking for the community's support and assistance ahead of the cold weather hitting Central Florida starting Saturday, Jan. 31.

During cold weather, the Winter Garden nonprofit opens as a cold weather shelter, providing a place for hundreds to seek warmth, food and clothing.

Matthew's Hope is looking for donations of twin-sized blankets and sheets, pillows and financial donations.

Volunteers also are needed for laundry and to serve as overnight chaperones.

Donations can be dropped from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at 611 Business Park Blvd, Winter Garden.

Visit Matthew's Hope website to donate.
