The new Horizon West elementary school now has a name.

Ovation Elementary School will open in August.

The name represents the master-planned community where the school is located, according to Orange County Public Schools.

The school, which will be located on a 15-acre parcel on Hartzog Road, is being built to relieve Panther Lake and Water Springs elementary schools. Panther Lake Elementary is reaching capacity at 98%, while Water Springs is over-capacity at 131%.

Ovation Elementary will house 834 students.

Patty Harrelson, the current principal of Orlo Vista Elementary School and a longtime West Orange resident, will serve as principal of the new $38.6 million school.

The two-story school will feature a single, secure point of entry at the main entrance.

The first floor will include classrooms, administrative offices, labs, kitchen facilities, a media center, art and music rooms, and a multipurpose cafeteria.

The second floor will have more classrooms and labs.

The campus also will feature basketball courts, playfields, a dedicated area for future portables, a covered playground area and a tot lot. There also will be a courtyard with two green spaces.
