Three longstanding West Orange County community physicians are joining Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute.

Orthopedic surgeons Dr. Kevin Cox, Dr. Jose Torres and Dr. Jacob Cox will "unite with Central Florida's largest orthopedic group to continue delivering exceptional orthopedic care to patients in West Orange County and beyond," according to a news release.

“These physicians have been pillars of orthopedic excellence in our community for decades,” said Michael Jablonski, MD, senior vice president, Orlando Health and president of the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, in a news release. “We’re thrilled to welcome them into our organization. Their expertise, dedication and deep roots in West Orange County will further strengthen high‑quality orthopedic care for our patients.”

Torres and Kevin Cox previously have held physician leadership positions at Orlando Health — Health Central Hospital.

Kevin Cox also completed his surgical internship and residency at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Jacob Cox currently serves as vice-chief of surgery for Health Central Hospital as well as Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital. He was instrumental in Horizon West Hospital earning Joint Commission certification for hip, knee and shoulder replacement.

“This partnership made a lot of sense for us, as we’ve known and worked alongside many of the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic physicians for years, building a strong mutual respect,” Kevin Cox said in a news release. “Now that we’ve joined the team, we’re excited to offer our patients new conveniences, like online access to their health information, along with the benefits of being connected to a comprehensive medical system with a broad range of specialists.”
